Because the City is seriously committed to effective waste reduction and recycling, residents are required to separate recyclables from garbage. Recycling programs are available for all residents at their homes, whether single family or multi-unit dwellings.

Recycling Container

A recycling container has been provided for each dwelling. If you move, please leave the container for the next resident. If you need a container, call City Hall at 952-927-8861.Map - Recycling Pickup Days

Pickup of Recyclables

Residents should place recycling containers by the curb by 7 a.m. on pickup day.

Recycling Service Contract & Costs

The City has contracted with BFI for city-wide weekly pickup of recyclables from all single-family, townhouses and multi-family homes of eight units or less.

A portion of Edina's recycling costs are subsidized from state taxes passed through Hennepin County. The remainder of the cost is paid by residents as a recycling service charge on city utility bills.

Apartment & Condominium Recycling Programs

Owners and managers of apartment and condominium buildings have made private arrangements for recycling of newspaper, glass, cans, plastic bottles and corrugated cardboard. In some instances, additional materials may also be recycled. Residents of these buildings should check with building managers for details.
